FAQs
How do I measure a box?
Box measurements are three dimensions and always in a specific sequence: length x width x depth. The length and width are the opening dimensions of the box, and the length is always the larger of the two (unless they are equal). The depth is how far you can reach into the box: the distance measured perpendicular to the length and width. These measurements always relate to the inside dimensions of the box.
How do I measure a poly bag?
Flat Poly Bags are measured in three dimensions and always in a specific sequence: width x length and gauge. The width is the dimension across the opening, while the length is the length from the bag’s opening to the bottom of the bag. The gauge is the measurement of Mil thickness (1 Mil, 3 Mil, etc); larger gauges correspond to thicker material. These measurements always relate to the outside dimensions of the bag.
Gusseted Poly Bags are measured in four dimensions and always in a specific sequence: width x depth x length and gauge. The width is the dimension across the bottom of the bag, while the length is the dimension perpendicular to the width — from the bag’s opening to the bottom of the bag. The depth is considered the measurement of the fully extended gusset, multiplied by 2. The gauge is the measurement of Mil thickness (1 Mil, 3 Mil, etc); larger gauges correspond to thicker material. These measurements always relate to the outside dimensions of the bag.
